Under the amended Condominium Act of Manitoba & its regulations, reserve fund studies are required for all condominium corporations in Manitoba by February 1, 2018.
We have undertaken many reserve fund studies for a variety of condominium corporations, and other properties such as large recreational properties and seniors housing properties which were not part of a condo corporation. All of our reserve fund studies meet the requirements of The Condominium Act & its regulations, as well as the Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (CUSPAP).
Debbie Pieterse is an accredited member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI, P. App.) and is qualified to undertake reserve fund studies under the Condo Act. As well, Debbie is a candidate member of the Reserve Fund Planning Professional (RFPP) program for appraisers at the University of British Columbia. This course is specifically designed to teach appraisers how to accurately and thoroughly complete reserve fund studies.
An additional requirement of the Condo Act is the replacement cost appraisal for condominium corporations, which under the Act & and its regulations, is required to be an accredited appraiser. As this work overlaps somewhat, if we are engaged to do both the reserve fund and replacement appraisal at the same time, then we offer a multi-product discount to our customers.
We have prepared a document with sample pages from a reserve fund study for your information, which can be downloaded here
